Grapefruit Paloma
Wow, I popped into my blog here and realized it has been well over a year since I've posted anything. I have no idea where the time has gone but that's life I guess. In that time the world has changed in so many ways. We have our house under contract and are moving to Maine at the start of the summer, my husband has a brand new job after a period of uncertainty, I have gone back to school to pursue my Holistic Health Coaching degree and we are currently on day 40-something of stay-at-home orders for a global pandemic. I mean, when I was thinking 2020 was going to be a year of change, I didn't exactly have all this (at the same time) in mind! All said, as much as everything in our lives is up in the air right now, it'll all come back down at some point. What's unsettling is that we have no idea what it will look like when it does. With all of us at home I've been trying to maintain some semblance of routine for my own sanity. Ok...maybe some things like regular hair-washing have gone out the window. I do, however, continue with my home workouts, put jeans on several days a week (mainly to make sure they still fit), get some outside time everyday and make sure I'm putting healthy food on the table for my favorite people. I can't lie, one thing I look forward to these days is cocktail hour - it separates the tedium of the day from the night. It's a chance to put aside, work, school, and life problems and pretend things are as they were. This drink has quickly become a favorite and of course it's super clean. Does fresh squeezed juice in your drink count towards your daily vitamin C quota? Sure.
Grapefruit Paloma
Serves 2
Ingredients
1 grapefruit, juiced
1 lemon, juiced
3 oz high quality tequila (I'm a fan of Casamigos or Espolon)
3 oz Cointreau
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake well. Add ice to 2 cocktail glass (I LOVE the silicone cube trays that make the giant ice cubes...they take longer to melt and your drink gets less watered down!). Divide your cocktail between your two glasses. Add club soda if you'd like.
Enjoy!
