Friday Favorites

Ahhhh Friday, we meet again! These weeks lately have been exhausting. Anyone else feel like they live in their car from the time school gets out till the kids go to bed each night? Meals have been anything but regular and I've majorly simplified our dinners so that I can feed everyone at different times, pack food to take with us or just make sure we aren't eating JUNK. I debated going out to eat last night because it was just so hot and I didn't feel like cooking but 1. I hate wasting food and I have plenty in the house and 2. My kids would eat so much better if we ate at home. We DON'T need another grilled cheese and french fry dinner out thank you very much. My list of favorites this week is sparse on the food front but I've got a few things that I'm loving right now from beauty to fashion to personal care!
1. Honest Hazel Eye Gels: If you are on Instagram, chances are you've seen people posting about eye gels left right and center. People are wearing them on planes, in the car, commuting. I'm pretty sure I won't be doing any of those things but I got a sample pack of these Honest Hazel Eye Gels at an I Am Well And Good event in the city recently. I put them on the other night to sleep with and quite honestly I wasn't expecting to notice much of a difference but much to my surprise, when I woke I looked more rested and those pesky crow's feet, having been moisturized all night, had greatly diminished. I'll definitely be ordering more!
2. Rodan + Fields Lash Boost: First let me start by saying that I do not sell R+F products so I gain nothing by this mention but when you find something this good, you gotta share it! I CAN NOT get enough of their Lash Boost. I started using it about a year ago and have noticed an incredible change in my lashes. My eyelashes are naturally curly but they are light and short. I mean, what girl wants stubby invisible lashes?! I was skeptical if this would work and it's kind of pricey but I ended up getting a free Lash Boost from a friend and now I'm addicted. 100% worth the investment and one container lasts me about 6 months so it's actually a pretty good bang for your buck. If you need an R+F consultant to order these, you probably know one and if not, I can hook you up with one!
3. Shelala: I pretty much love everything in this store. This is my go-to for home goods, monogramming, fun house gifts and there's even a section for kids which I've scored some cute birthday gifts from (think headbands, squishies, clothes, sequin notebooks, etc). Also, if you are looking for fun, fashionable jewelry that won't break the bank, look no further. I can not go into this store without buying a pair of earrings (or two) and at $24 a pop, you seriously can't beat it. Earrings are my favorite way to dress up and outfit. Even jeans and a t-shirt can go from day time run around to all dressed up with just the right pair. Also, take a peek at Sheila's own line of clothing while you are in there. In addition to Roberta Roller Rabbit and other fun brands, she has a great line of t's and dresses that are so reasonably priced. Just yesterday I scored a couple fab dresses that were $36 each and another dressier option for not that much more. And lucky me, Sheila was in there and found some jewels to pair with them to complete the outfits! There is one store in New Canaan and one in Westport - check them out!
4.2B Mindset: What would be the one thing you say you struggle with the most? Exercise or nutrition? 9 out of 10 people would probably say nutrition. Why is it so hard to find that balance of eating well and not feeling deprived? Eating well shouldn't be about eliminating food groups, counting calories, measuring food, and allotting points to what's on your plate. I love the concept of this program - water first, veggies most. Designed by LA nutritionist, Ilana Muhlsein, she has truly walked the walk going from overweight child sent to fat camp to leading hundreds of people to find lasting weight-loss success. I pretty much eat this way already and am so excited to have a program to back it up and teach people how to implement in my monthly success groups. If you are sick of dieting, sick of feeling guilty about food, sick of not eating enough or eating too much, or can't get the scale to move, this is the program for you. I am coaching my first 2B Mindset on May 14th if you wanna jump in!
5. Native Deoderant: Who doesn't want less chemicals in their life?! I've slowly but surely tried to change the products over in my home - from cleaning supplies to make up, to shampoo, detergent and deoderant. When I run out of the good old toxic stuff, I replace it with products that are not only better for the environment, but better for me. We SHOULD NOT be spreading toxins on our body! I feel the same way about food but that's an entirely separate topic. I started using Native deoderant about a year and a half ago and love it and what's better? It actually works. My favorite scent is the Coconut Vanilla. And I love their tagline: Take Care of Your Body. It's the Only Place You Have to Live. Truth!
And that's it for this week's lineup! If you try any of these things, I'd love to hear your thoughts on them!
